Since graduating from Design Products at the Royal College of Art in 2009 Fabien Cappello has created a body of work that explores the potential of local manufacturing to create social infrastructure and notions of design cartography. His travels have taken him through London, to Lisbon, Korea and Mexico all the while surveying and mapping the available production resources in in each city and country. The results reveal unexpected aspects of the relevant area and an open approach to the working practices of other cultures.
Fabien was the recipient of the prestigious Stanley Picker Fellowship in Design 2013/2014, as well as an ELLE Decoration New Designers Award 2012. His clients have included The British Council, The Contemporary Art Society, Bloomberg, Retrouvius and Kvadrat.
