Danish-born, London-based Nina Tolstrup founded Studiomama in 2000through which she has designed a diverse range of products for an equally varied list of companies and clients, including Habitat, Lexon, Trip Trap, E&Y and the Danish Embassy in London. She is curator for the Danish Crafts Collection and has authored a book that celebrates the honesty of wood and offers clear and precise instructions to making simple yet engaging domestic objects. Her self-initiated open source design projects such as the charity based Pallet Project invites impoverished local communities internationally to download the instructions to making products from scrap wood and sell the finished goods for profit.
