Maxite Balls, 2019
Accumulated offcast rubber
This collection of decorations are made from the overspray of rubber that accumulates on the floor of the spray booth where Lamb sprays his Poly series of pieces. Its a strange phenomenon that, due to the static created by polystyrene, gathers the waste into balls. The interior of each, if cut in half, would reveal the other colours that have been sprayed in the booth over the last month or two. The name ‘Maxite' references the name ‘Fordite’ which comes the overspray at the Ford Motor Factory.
