Danish fabric manufacturer Kvadrat commissioned Peter Marigold to develop furniture designs using their Divina woven and felted wool range for a presentation during Milan's annual furniture fair. Marigold's 'Jib' stools are made from individually upholstered parts that can be brought together in different combinations. As the designer says, it's "almost like choosing and comparing sample swatches". The geometry of the parts is slightly asymmetrical skewing the assembly. The units can also incorporate longer parts to form, for example, a bench with the same language.
A ‘Jib’ is one of the main sails on a boat.
