Anton Alvarez and his Thread Wrapping Machine have become the subject of a new book edited by Julie Cirelli and published by Swedish publisher Arvinius + Orfeus. The publication, which follows Alvarez's solo exhibition Thread Wrapping Architecture at the Gustavsbergs Konsthall, offers an insight into the designer's groundbreaking tool, which spins thousands of meters of glue-coated thread around pieces of wood, metal or textile to conceive objects and architectural installations.
The publication features texts by Andreas Nobel, founder of the design and architecture office UglyCute, and by artist and curator Richard Wentworth. It is also accompanied by images by Gustav Almestål, James Champion, Katrin Greiling, Paul Plews, Casper Sejersen, Vincent Skoglund and Märta Thisner.
