For Domus 956 - dedicated to the theme of representation - Formafantasma were invited to design the cover and write the editorial. The issue includes the article 'Crafting the Familiar' - written by Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin of the Eindhoven-based, Italian-born design duo - which highlights the focus on vernacular objects and handmade traditions in thier practice.
The magazine also features an essay by Francesca Picchi titled 'The Cosmography of Formafantasma', an intricate potrayal of how Trimarchi and Farresin operate. "The interweaving of a complex network of relationships forms the skeleton on which Formafantasma's work is developed, drawing on in-depth research that taps into past potential and reuses it through the object. Their projects are an expression of design that exploits open-source practives, craftsmanship and DIY", explains Picchi.
