"An artful tower of flowers" is how Elaine Louie of the New York Times describes the 'Pyramids of Makkum', the latest exhibition at Gallery Libby Sellers comprising five sculptural, totem-like flower vessels - a replica of a 17th century flower pyramid now in Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum and four contemporary reinterpretations by Jurgen Bey, Studio Job, Hella Jongerius and Alexander van Slobbe. Produced by the venerable Dutch ceramics manufacturer Royal Tichelaar Makkum, the pyramids are being shown as a complete set for the first time in London.
